Our comfortable members cabin is situated in the car park at the entrance to Penderyn Reservoir.

Anglers must sign in, record their catches, and make boat bookings at the cabin which also provides facilities for members to weigh their fish,  and to shelter and relax.

Penderyn Improvements

Over the past few years M.A.F.F.A. has undertaken a range of improvements at Penderyn aimed at installing new and updating existing facilities for the benefit of members and visitors alike, enabling us also to accommodate schools, groups and organisations, such as our local Scouts, who wish to try fly-fishing for themselves. Please see the Photo Gallery below, (click on the photo to enlarge).

The Association is extremely indebted to the support and commitment of Natural Resources Wales, Tower Fund and several other funding bodies, notably Meadow Prospects, Interlink, The Welsh Church Act Fund and the National Lottery's

Awards for All Wales Fund, all of which have supported our endeavours to improve facilities for the benefit of angling at Penderyn Reservoir.

Working in partnership with Natural Resources Wales, we have undertaken improvements to our car park and pathways, making them 'disabled friendly', we have installed 'disabled casting platforms', as well as stairways enabling access along our stone reservoir banks and we have constructed a boat-mooring pontoon which provides easy access to our boats. All of these following on from the erection of our anglers' cabin which was sourced through our own funds and erected by club volunteers.

We have recently installed a mini wind-turbine, solar panels and lighting courtesy of a grant from Awards for All Wales and, in due course, we hope to acquire a wheely-boat to enable anglers with a range of disabilities, particularly wheelchair anglers to experience boat fishing.

Following some more fundraising and support from The Wheelyboat Trust,                            2018 saw the aquisition of a Coulam Wheelyboat.
The Wheelyboat is designed to accomodate anglers with disabilities and is wheelchair compatible as well as being extremely stable

Penderyn Reservoir is the subject of an article in  the - April 29th - May 26th 2015. 'Trout Fisherman Magazine' by Ceri Jones a well known T.F. columnist.

Ceri also took a number of photographs on the day, these can be viewed in the Photo gallery below.

Anglers turned out in force for the Opening Day on Penderyn, and the fish were very obliging, with those prepared to fish deep recording some excellent catches of rainbows to over 5lb. Green and black seemed to be the favourite fly colour choice for anglers making the best returns..
